Max was warmly acknowledged at the recent Oxford Brookes Inclusion Conference, hosted by Dr Jon Reid, for opening the event with a powerful keynote centred on the importance of relationships in education.

The conference, focused on Relational Practice, brought together educators, practitioners, and those with lived experience to explore how meaningful connections can positively shape outcomes for children and young people — especially those facing challenges in the education system.

Max shared deeply personal reflections on how relationships during his school years played a pivotal role in his growth, learning, and resilience as a Neurodivergent individual.

His words set the tone for a day that celebrated empathy, connection, and inclusion.

Laura Dennis reflected on LinkedIn

“It was wonderful to hear Max J Green opening the day with reflections on how relationships played a crucial role in his life whilst at school. I am a true believer that those with lived experiences of the things we often talk about will always make the biggest impact!”

The conference also featured a moving workshop from a former pupil of The Mulberry Bush, as well as contributions from respected sector colleagues including Clare Pike (She/Her), Dr Hester Riviere, and Ray Burrows.

Max is honoured to have been part of an event that champions the power of human connection in education and continues to use his platform to amplify the voices of those with lived experience.
